Meeting for the students of the MIPT base department with the teaching staff was held at MERI

The first academic day for the base department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics of Phystech School of Electronics, Photonics and Molecular Physics started at MERI with the meeting of students with the faculty of the department.

This academic year eight 4th-year students entered the department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics. Seven bachelor graduates will continue their education at the department as a part of master’s program.  Nine our employees started the post-graduate course: eight of them at MIPT and one – at the Institute of Microelectronics Technology and High Purity Materials, RAS

The meeting was started by the head of the department, general director of MERI JSC, RAS academician Gennady Krasnikov. He congratulated the students on the beginning of the academic year and underlined the importance of their research work for the institute: “You are fully responsible for the results of your work, because MERI is a leading institute of the national electronic technologies sector. As the technological independence of the country and its security directly depend on microelectronics and the new hardware component base development, the government pays much attention to this sector nowadays.”

The deputy head of the department, professor Evgeny Gornev told the students about the last year achievements of the department and expressed his confidence in maintaining a high level of education at the department: “We set rather strict requirements for our students, they all carry out research work here. We train primarily research scientists. And we really hope that the new coming students of the department will make a worthy contribution to the development of national microelectronics.”
