The Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" held a roundtable discussion as part of the II International Forum on Microelectronics and Neurotechnologies (MN-2026), with the participation of Molecular Electronics Research Institute. Representatives of government agencies, leading industrial enterprises, academic science, and specialized education discussed the systemic personnel challenges in the microelectronics industry and the tools for creating a high-quality pool of specialists, including through the mechanisms of Advanced Engineering Schools.
The discussion was attended by Liliana Polikarpova, Deputy General Director for Organizational Development at MERI, Head of the Qualification Assessment Center, Sergey Tarasov, Dean of the Faculty of Electronics at ETU "LETI", Sergey Ranchin, General Director of Mikron, and other industry experts. The participants discussed in detail the current issues of staffing in the Russian microelectronics industry and agreed that large-scale technological sovereignty requires the synchronization of efforts by the government, science, and business.
Following the roundtable discussion, a resolution was drafted with proposals from the participants to be submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
