The Microelectronics Russian Forum

The Microelectronics Russian Forum is a key communication event in the field of electronic technologies, as well as an authoritative platform of the Russian industry, where strategic directions for the development of the domestic electronic component base are formed and breakthrough technological solutions are discussed in the context of the new industrial reality.

MERI acts as the organizer of the Microelectronics Russian Forum.
The Microelectronics Forum is a respected platform of the Russian industry for shaping strategic vectors of the development of the domestic electronic component base and discussing breakthrough technology solutions in the new industry reality.

Microelectronics Russian Forum

The event brings together industry leaders, representatives of state corporations, innovative startups and R&D centers building a community for establishing effective business partnerships and commercializing advanced developments. The Forum demonstrates actual achievements in the field of micro- and radio-electronics, semiconductor technologies and import substitution, setting benchmarks for sustainable growth of the Russian hi-tech sector.

The Forum’s Goals to:

  • seek new opportunities, to come up with new ideas and solutions for developing the microelectronic technology, special technological equipment and creating ultra-pure materials;
  • strengthen horizontal cross-industry research-to-practice and production ties by organizing positive constructive interaction and business cooperation;
  • develop Forum participants’ understanding of global changes in the industry and responsibility for the domestic microelectronic industry development.

Forum activity: 12th science conference «ECB and Microelectronic moduls» (pre-conferences, plenary sessions, track of review and discussion meetings).

In 2024 the Microelectronics Russian Forum was included in the action plan of The Decade of Science and Technology, declared by the executive order of President Vladimir Putin to strengthen the role of science and technology in solving key tasks of the country's and society’s development.

«Journal Electronic Engineering. Series 3. Microelectronics» is a scientific journal, which is dedicated to modern technologies and methods used in microelectronic production. It covers current issues of chip design and testing, integrated circuit architecture, new materials, and devices.

Molecular Electronics Research Institute has been publishing a journal since 2014, which covers modern achievements and problems of micro- and nanoelectronics in all areas of scientific and industrial activity from technology to economics.

Dear Readers,
I am pleased to inform you that since 2014, we have resumed the publication of the scientific and technical journal "Electronic Engineering. Series 3. Microelectronics". The journal was reestablished by a decision of the Editorial Council of the “Molecular Electronics Research Institute”, SC. As in previous years, the journal provides comprehensive coverage of actual achievements and challenges in micro- and nanoelectronics across all areas of scientific and industrial activity – from technology to economics.

The journal's mission is to promptly publish scientific articles on new, previously unpublished significant researches results, as well as fundamental and applied results of their implementation. It aims to fully reflect research activities in the global scientific information space and popularize science as a whole.

It is also worth noting that in 2017, "Electronic Engineering. Series 3. Microelectronics" was included in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission for publishing key scientific results of dissertations by applicants for the degrees of Candidate of Sciences (Ph.D.) and Doctor of Sciences (Sc.D.). This recognition serves as a quality mark, guaranteeing the relevance and novelty of the scientific articles published.

Aims & scope:

  • publication of scientific articles on new, previously unpublished significant results of scientific research, fundamental and applied results of their application;
  • research activities reflection in the global scientific information space;
  • science popularization in general.

The journal is open to both Russian and foreign authors. MERI invites scientists and specialists, as well as graduate students and young employees specializing in fields of science and industry related to microelectronics and nanoelectronics to cooperate.

Krasnikov Gennady is the Russian scientist in the field of semiconductor device physics, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2008), academician-secretary of the Department of Nanotechnology and Information Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2019–2022), foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (since 2021), Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, scientific director of Molecular Electronics Research Institute. President of the Russian Academy of Sciences since September 20, 2022.

Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for 2014, a well-known specialist in the field of semiconductor physics, dielectrics and heterostructures, physics of semiconductor devices, and technology of manufacturing micro- and nanoelectronics products.

Author of more than 460 scientific papers in domestic and foreign peer-reviewed journals, 4 scientific monographs, and more than 40 certificates of authorship and patents.

Academician Krasnikov is developing a scientific school in nanoelectronic transistor structures and leading the development of microelectronic technologies critical for ensuring national security and prohibited from export to Russia.

The scientific achievements of G. Krasnikov laid the foundation for the creation of more than 200 types of microchips, which were previously produced outside of Russia. A unique complex has been created for the development and industrial production of integrated circuits at the 180-90-65 nm level, based on which the most important state projects in the fields of information technology, energy, transport, communications and the financial sector have been implemented.
