About MERI

Molecular electronics research institute is a leading Russian scientific center for research in the field of microelectronics, development and production of semiconductor products.

MERI conducts scientific research, creates technologies, equipment and design tools, develops and manufactures semiconductor products.

MERI develops technologies with 180-90-65-28 nm design standards for a wide range of applications: high-performance data processing, low power consumption, mixed signal processing, RAM and non-volatile memory, technologies based on the integration of heterojunction SiGe BTs and CMOS and others.

MERI has a unique scientific school: over 500 highly qualified developers, including 3 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences and over 70 doctors and candidates of science.

MERI collaborates with over 60 Russian and international research centers, technical universities and design centers.

History

1964
Molecular electronics research institute was founded as the leading center engaged in scientific research and development of technologies and semiconductor integrated circuits.
1967
Mikron Fab was organized inside MERI and became the largest producer and exporter of microelectronics in Russia.
1980
MERI was one of the creators of IC for Вuran space systems as well as Yantar and Geyser for optical-electronic reconnaissance.
1985
MERI’s scientific school was a technology developer of IC for Mars-Venus.
2005
2005 Within the framework of cooperation with Infineon Technologies Company (Germany) MERI received technologies for assembling chips into modules.
2006
MERI signed the agreement with ST Microelectronics (France) to obtain a license for a new technology for manufacturing top microchips with a size of 0.18 microns.
2006
MERI received technologies transfer for issuing bank cards, SIM cards, and ID documents from Giesecke & Devrient company (Germany).
2008
MERI became a full member of World Semiconductor Association.
2016
According to the Russian Government decree MERI has been appointed responsible for the implementation of the State technological program «Electronic Technologies».
2025
MERI became the main Russian center for chemistry and electronic engineering projects.

Today MERI is the leading research center for scientific and technological research in the fields of micro- and nanoelectronics, the development and production of semiconductor products and the leading enterprise in the priority technological direction of «Electronic Technologies» in the Russian Federation.

MERI has designed a family of secure microcontrollers for identification cards and electronic documents that are used in ID cards.

Testing and analyzing

  • MERI provides testing services both at the software and hardware levels for the entire range of power range of power management microcircuits, discrete semiconductor devices, RFID chips, microprocessors, microcontrollers and system-on-chip (SOC);
  • MERI’s experts support customers at all levels: from measuring the first prototypes to testing mass-production products. MERI provides testing services for design teams that do not have their own production facilities.
