The Annual All-RUSSIAN Scientific Conference with international participation "Microelectronic Systems" 2026 was held at Skoltech

Molecular Electronics Research Institute participated in the section "Innovative Methods of Creating and Manufacturing Microelectronic Systems".

The annual All-Russian Scientific Conference with International Participation "Microelectronic Systems" (MES-2026) was held at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) with the participation of MERI. This year, the event was officially recognized as a satellite event of the Russian Microelectronics Forum 2026 (Forum).

The conference is the main academic event in Russia dedicated to all aspects of chip design, system-on-a-chip, and advanced electronics, including their practical application. Based on the results of the expert selection, the best conference reports will be recommended for publication in both the highly ranked scientific journals that are partners of the conference, as well as for direct presentation at the Forum.

The conference brought together more than 500 leading scientists, engineers, and industry experts. The two-day program covered five specialized sections: artificial intelligence in microelectronics; photonics and photonic integrated circuits; quantum technologies in microelectronic systems and sensors; and innovative methods for creating microelectronic systems, as well as specialized microelectronic systems for robotics, unmanned systems, and space. Over 130 presentations were made during the sessions.

The section "Innovative Methods of Creating and Manufacturing Microelectronic Systems" was held with the participation of MERI. The institute's leading scientists acted as moderators of the section and were part of the expert jury that selected the best presentations at the conference. The conference featured 19 oral presentations and 14 poster presentations from leading Russian educational universities.

Viktor Enns, Deputy Director General for Microchip Development and Implementation at MERI, presented a report "Methods for Creating Heterogeneous FPGAs and BMCs that allow for significant increases in logical capacity and speed through architectural solutions." The paper discusses methods for creating configurable integrated circuits based on new architectural solutions that increase their logical capacity and speed. The proposed approaches make it possible to produce configurable FPGA and BMC chips at domestic semiconductor factories that are on par with modern foreign counterparts in terms of technical level.

"Russian scientists have made significant progress in creating key electronic components. Domestic analogues of programmable logic integrated circuits and basic matrix crystals have been developed, digital twins of microelectronic devices have been created, and new technologies for manufacturing and integrating chips have been mastered. There have been successes in alternative approaches, such as flexible and printed electronics, spintronics and magnonics,"- noted in the report Oleg Telminov, Head of the Department of Advanced Research at MERI.

The conference is organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the AlfaChip Innovation Center, and the Skolkovo Foundation, with the support of relevant ministries and agencies, state corporations, leading universities, development funds, and leading industrial enterprises.
