Consortium “Perspective materials and hardware elements of information and computing systems” summarized the work in 2019

24.12.2019
On December 23, under the chairmanship of RAS Presidium member, MERI JSC general director, the head of Priority Technological Sector "Electronic technologies", academician Gennady Krasnikov a meeting of the Consortium “Perspective materials and hardware elements of information and computing systems” was held.

The meeting was attended by representatives of leading organizations and enterprises in microelectronics.
At his opening speech Gennady Krasnikov emphasized the role of the Consortium in planning, organizing and conducting the works aimed at creating a hardware elements base of information, computing and control systems and materials.

During the meeting the results of the year 2019 were analyzed.

The Consortium was founded in 2015 on the basis of MERI JSC and several other institutes to solve current tasks in modern microelectronics.

The Consortium includes the following institutes:
1. MERI JSC;
2. Institute of Microelectronics Technology and High Purity Materials, RAS;
3. Institute of Physics and Technology, RAS;
4. Institute of Ultra high Frequency Semiconductor Electronics, RAS;
5. Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics of RAS Siberian Branch;
6. Kotelnikov Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, RAS;
7. Institute of Solid State Physics, RAS;
8. Federal Research Center “Computer Science and Control” of RAS;
9. Experimental Factory of Scientific Engineering with Special Design Department (EZAN) of RAS;
10. Research Institute of Precision Machine Manufacturing
11. National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET).

Institutes-members of the Consortium as well as their affiliates won 15 of 25 projects including:
1. Institute of Microelectronics Technology and High Purity Materials, RAS – 4 projects
2. Kotelnikov Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, RAS – 4 projects;
3. MERI JSC – 2 projects;
4. Institute of Ultra high Frequency Semiconductor Electronics, RAS – 1 project;
5. Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the Siberian Branch of the RAS – 1 project;
6. Institute of Solid State Physics, RAS – 1 project;
7. National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) – 1 project;
8. Federal Research Center “Computer Science and Control” of RAS – 1 project.

The Consortium's proposals formed the basis of the ONIT RAS Fundamental Research plan.
The purpose of the plan is to obtain new basic knowledge in computer science and information technologies, intelligent systems of digital economy and strategic planning tools, advanced materials and the hardware elements for micro- and nanoelectronics, breakthrough solutions to information security problems that allow to prevent damage to the state and business in the Russian Federation when introducing modern and promising technologies. At the moment, the draft Program for fundamental scientific research in the Russian Federation based on the presented plans of the RAS branches, is being finalized for the years 2021-2035.

In 2019, the Consortium organized 14 scientific events, including:
1. Scientific Seminar “Optical Proximity Correction” – MERI JSC, 30/01/2019
2. Scientific Seminar “Hardware Components for VLSI: transistor structures” - Kotelnikov Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, RAS, 27/02/2019
