Academician Gennady Krasnikov took part in the Nobel Vision Forum

On December 7, the Nobel Vision Open Innovations 2.0 forum took place at the Skolkovo Innovation Center, which is an evolutionary stage in the development of the Open Innovations international forum, one of the most famous and authoritative discussion venues dedicated to innovative topics. Nobel Vision is attended by Nobel Prize, Fields Prize, Wolf Prize and other internationally recognized laureates.

The main topics discussed at this year's Forum were the crisis phenomena in the economy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the anthropogenic impact on the environment, the new situation in the world economy, which required a transition from mass standardization to mass uniqueness, as well as the vision and roadmaps for technology development in the coming years. Based on the discussions at the forum, the community of world-renowned scientists together with the heads of the leading corporations of knowledge-intensive industries will build a chain of future technological development of individual markets and various spheres of human life.

Gennady Krasnikov, General Director of MERI, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took part in the work of two sections: "FutureTech. High Technologies of Russia" and "Place of Power. Where are the scientific research that will change the face of the world by 2050?".
At the session "FutureTech. High-Tech Russia," speakers discussed Russia's place in the new technology race under conditions of global digitalization and under the influence of the pandemic.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov noted that even now Russia has a number of innovations that are important for the whole world, for example, in the field of microelectronics and quantum technologies. They are necessary for the further development of artificial intelligence technology - it is this very technology that the speakers called the most relevant at the present moment and the most promising for the near future.

The session "A Place of Power. Where is scientific research happening that will change the face of the world by 2050?" discussed the impact of a strong scientific base underpinning a modern competitive solution on achieving any development goals formulated today.

Gennady Krasnikov underlined that recently mature Russian business starts to be interested in investing in scientific research, and technological chains from fundamental to applied research and development and to subsequent high-tech production destroyed in the 1990s gradually start to recover: “Now Zelenograd has got a second wind: the government and the president understand the importance of technological development, pay attention to it. Many different projects are already being implemented in the field of electronics and the Department of Radio-Electronic Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is allocating unprecedented funding for them.”
