MERI won the Golden Chip competition at ChipExpo-2019
The development of MERI JSC, a microcontroller for bank cards, got the “Golden Chip” industry prize in the “Import Substitution” nomination. The competition was a part of the International exhibition on electronics, components, equipment and technologies ChipExpo-2019.

MIK51BC16D microcontroller for smart cards was developed by MERI engineers to be used in bank cards. The chip is implemented on the dual payment platform MIKPay.MTD.D6 based on Russian technologies as an alternative to foreign chips.

A universal single-chip microprocessor with a dual interface, manufactured by CMOS technology, and designed for use in secure access systems that demand the high level of information security, supports international and Russian certified cryptographic algorithms, is a Russian first-level microcircuit.
The chip meets the international standards, it has its own operating system Trust 3.10B and certified by Russian National Payment Card System MIR. The certification of MIR payment system included several stages: security test (the possibility of hacking and data theft), functionality test (compliance with the NSPK specifications for using the application), and performance test (transaction time can’t be more than 0.4 seconds).

The Golden Chip competition has been held since 2004 as part of the specialized exhibition ChipExpo at the initiative and with the support of the Department of Radioelectronic Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Its goal is to promote the development of the industry, support the enterprises that contribute to the science, business and education development, as well as to form a positive image of various areas of Russian electronics.
This year 47 leading Russian research institutes and microelectronic enterprises took part in the competition.
