The VIII Microelectronics 2022 Forum has started in Sochi

The event is being held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The organizers are Molecular Electronics Research Institute and Scientific-Research Institute of Microelectronic Equipment „Progress“.The Honorary President of the Forum is the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Gennady Yakovlevich Krasnikov.

The Annual Forum is a significant and long-awaited event for both the microelectronics industry and the entire scientific community. Specialists from various industries attended the forum, which allowed for a full-fledged dialogue between developers of electronic component bases and manufacturers of finished products, directly contributing to the active development of the country's digital economy. Representatives of federal government agencies, corporations, holdings, integrated structures, and private businesses participate in the Forum. They will discuss ways to further develop the industry and develop the most effective solutions.

In his greeting to the Forum, the Honorary President of the Forum, Co-Chairman of the Presidium, Chairman of the Forum's Program Committee, Head of the Russian Federation's Priority Technological Direction for Electronic Technologies, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences G. Krasnikov noted: "The Forum has been successfully operating since 2015, constantly increasing the number of participants and the representation of scientific institutions, government agencies, and businesses. Thanks to a successful combination of various events, it has already established itself as the most popular platform for direct communication and exchange of views on breakthrough, unique technologies and their practical application."

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov sent a video message of welcome: "Today's challenges present an opportunity to make a breakthrough in the development of the radio-electronic industry and raise it to a new level of competence and technological capabilities. This will ensure a high level of sovereignty for the industry and our economy as a whole. We can achieve this through our collective efforts."

This year, the Forum was attended by 1,700 delegates and speakers from 600 scientific centers, state corporations, manufacturing enterprises, universities, and commercial organizations. The speakers at the scientific conference will share their achievements in both traditional microelectronics technologies and emerging high-tech fields such as neuromorphic computing and quantum technologies.

The Forum is a comprehensive event that includes the scientific conference "Electronic Component Base and Microelectronic Modules," which consists of 13 scientific and technical sections in thematic areas with the participation of specialists from leading Russian research institutes, universities, manufacturing enterprises, and design centers, including two new sections, "Optoelectronics and Photonics Technologies" and "Micro- and Nano-Electronics Materials"; two plenary sessions on the prospects for developing the radio-electronic complex, domestic electronic components, and systems based on them; a track of review and discussion sessions on the most relevant issues of development, production, and application of electronic components in modern conditions; a business program featuring roundtable discussions and panel sessions on current issues in the development of micro- and radioelectronics, with the participation of industry regulators, business representatives, industry, science, and professional education.

The exhibition includes a demonstration area with 72 booths within a single exhibition space, as well as a School for Young Scientists organized by the Department of Nanotechnology and Information Technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Council of the Department of Nanotechnology and Information Technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Fundamental Problems of the Element Base of Information, Computing, and Control Systems and Materials for Its Creation, the Consortium for Promising Materials and the Element Base of Information and Computing Systems, and the Research Institute of Molecular Electronics.
